Working through business organisations
Our primary contact with the political environment is through our active membership in industry organisations such as Building and Construction Industry Association and the Asphalt Contractor's Association (and corresponding associations in Denmark and Sweden). As one of the absolute leading contractors and property developers, Veidekke is often drawn into efforts aimed at governments and those who set our framework conditions. This contact is important both operationally and strategically, and furnishes us with feedback on problem areas important to the Group's further development. We experience a high degree of openness and interest from politicians and authorities, and CEO Terje R. Venold and other leaders are frequently invited to direct dialogues with relevant authorities from both ministries and the Parliament. In Sweden, the Development and Environment manager Jonny Kellner has had meetings with national politicians to speak about our low-energy house TellHus, which today is a central part of Veidekke's environmental work.
