INVESTORS

Equal and relevant information to everyone

Our investor relations (IR) department distributes new information about the company which will (or can) influence the current share price, to key interest groups such as share analysts, investors and shareholders. We endeavour to give the same information to everyone, be it in our quarterly presentation of the company's financial and business development, or in information about the market and our expectations of it. Share analysts have expressed their satisfaction with Veidekke's work on IR on several occasions.

Increased interest in sustainability

An interesting development in the area of IR is the increasing interest among investors when it comes to questions concerning sustainable development. We saw a marked increase in the number of enquiries of this kind last year. More and more funds are being managed in accordance with the principles of socially responsible investing (SRI), and in future, diligent efforts within CSR will be a prerequisite for access to capital. The Dutch commercial bank Kempen Capital Management reviewed Veidekke's CSR efforts in 2008, and as a result, we were approved according to their criteria for SRI. This means that we are a potential investment object in all their ethical funds.

In 2009, Storebrand Investments conducted a control survey, and we have also answered a survey conducted by the Norwegian investor collaboration, Sustainable Value Creation. This is a collaboration of the country's largest financial investors, for the purpose of influencing Norwegian listed companies towards sustainable development and good long-term value creation. The partners represent a major force, with nearly 2700 billion Norwegian kroner behind them. Their 2009 survey they assessed listed companies' practices in responsible and sustainable operation, to whom the guidelines apply and how the guidelines are implemented. Board accountability and reporting are also part of the survey. The results were presented at the Oslo Stock Exchange in January 2010, with Veidekke in the audience. We are very happy with several elements in our CSR work in the Group, including environmental work, but also see that there are several areas with significant potential for improvement. We will therefore continue our efforts to integrate a philosophy of sustainability in all our activities.
