Many channels – leaders most important
Veidekke has an internal information policy which is under continuous development. One of the most important challenges is to ensure that individual managers are able to fulfil their ongoing obligation to inform their employees. By developing relevant tools, providing efficient communication channels and encouraging openness and proactivity, we will ensure that all employees have sufficient information on Veidekke's history, current situation and future prospects. The Internet and intranet play a key role here, but print media such as Veidekke Magazine and various district and regional newspapers are other important channels of communication.
Cooperation with elected representatives
Veidekke aims to safeguard the interests of its employees by maintaining good relations with employee representatives. Monthly meetings are held with employee representatives at district level, while a two-day conference is held each year for senior union representatives. In line with EU regulations, a European works council (EWC) has been set up consisting of representatives for the elected employee representatives from the countries in which Veidekke operates. These meetings guarantee a close dialogue with the trade unions and a generally low level of conflict.
