PAYMENT TO PUBLIC AUTHORITIES

As one of Scandinavia's largest construction companies, Veidekke naturally makes a substantial contribution to government tax revenues. In Norway, we paid MNOK 283 in taxes in 2009. In Sweden and Denmark tax paid is limited because these businesses ran deficits a few years back. We also pay large sums of money through the employer tax, which last year amounted to MNOK 297 in Norway, MNOK 112 in Sweden and MNOK 1 in Denmark. Veidekke makes a larger tax contribution when profits are good. In 2009, we paid MNOK 60 in dividends to our share-holding employees. These payments of course also mean more income tax to the States in all three countries.
