During the third quarter of 2008, 9 lost-time injuries were reported for our Norwegian operations, giving an injury rate of 4.8 for the quarter. The injury rate registered over the past four quarters was 3.2, compared with 3.3 at the end of the second quarter.
The injury rates for our Swedish and Danish operations in the third quarter were 10.9 and 14.7, respectively. In total, this gives an injury rate for our Scandinavian operations of 5.7 for the third quarter, as against 6.1 for the second quarter.
Sickness absence among our skilled workers in Norway was 6.8 per cent at the end of the third quarter, compared with 6.6 per cent at the end of the second quarter. Sickness absence for all employees in Norway was 5.5 per cent at the end of the third quarter, compared with 5.3 per cent at the end of the second quarter.
In Sweden, sickness absence among our skilled workers stood at 3.9 per cent at the end of the third quarter, as against 4.1 per cent at the end of the second quarter. Sickness absence for all employees was 3.0 per cent, compared with 3.2 at the end of second quarter.
In Denmark sickness absence among skilled workers stood at 3.5 per cent at the end of the third quarter, compared with 3.9 per cent at the end of the second quarter. For all employees, absence was 2.5 per cent at the end of the third quarter, as against 2.8 per cent at the end of the second quarter.
