Veidekke’s organisation

Veidekke is one of Scandinavia's largest and most reliable contractors and property developers, with headquarters in Oslo, approx. 6,100 employees and a turnover of NOK 17.9 billion in 2011. Veidekke was established in 1936 and was listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in 1986.

Our chosen organisational model

One of our greatest competitive advantages is the fact that we combine size with decentralized strength. This is achieved by a management model where much responsibility and authority is delegated to the local units where value is created. It is there one possesses the knowledge of and proximity to the local markets, clients and suppliers, and where the day-to-day decisions have to be made. At the same time, everyone works within a common framework and with common objectives.

We have three business areas

The activity areas consist of regional, district and section offices as well as various subsidiaries. These local units have a great degree of independence. It is they who have the best knowledge of markets, customers and opportunities.

More information is available under business areas.

Interaction for added value

We are also a responsible community player and believe that the best buildings and results are created through value-creating partherships with our customers and stakeholders. We have strong focus on profitability and have never posted a loss. Our targets for health, safety and the environment have equal status as our financial targets. Significant employee co-ownership and their participation in the company's development characterizes our organization. In sum, this makes us well-equipped to face future challenges.

The heads of the business areas comprise the group management along with the heads of economy/finance, human resources/strategy and communication.
